About Psychotherapy
Core Process Psychotherapy
Core Process Psychotherapy weaves together western psychodynamic thinking and trauma-informed understanding with Buddhist body-mind psychology and mindfulness practices.
Mindfulness is about paying attention to what is happening in the present moment, with kindness. You don’t need any experience of meditation or to hold a particular belief to benefit from this approach - just a willingness to bring yourself to sessions with openness and curiosity.
In our work together we will gently explore your experience, as it unfolds, at your own pace. By paying mindful attention to thoughts, emotions and sensations in the body as they arise, we can gain insight into how you are feeling and relating. As awareness grows, we may begin to notice patterns in how you respond to pain, confusion or uncertainty - including ways of protecting yourself that once helped but may now be holding you back.
With compassionate awareness, we can gently change how we relate to what is difficult and so discover more choice and freedom in how we respond. Alongside this, we will also make room for the things in your life that are nourishing, meaningful and inspiring.
